Important roadworks information: A11 Biodiversity improvements between Mildenhall and Thetford

National Highways are carrying out a scheme to improve grassland biodiversity along the A11 corridor between Mildenhall and Thetford. To complete the final phase of this three-year project, they'll be carrying out environmental work within the verge at six sites along this stretch of the A11. This will encourage a range of plant species to mature.

They plan to start this final phase on Thursday 7 November 2024 for approximately three weeks. They will work between 8pm and 6am on weeknights only, weather permitting.

We are currently carrying out surveys and vegetation clearance at the six sites along the A11, prior to the main work starting.

Closures

To carry out the work safely, it will require some lane closures at various locations northbound and southbound on the A11 between the Fiveways Roundabout and London Road Roundabout.
