Cemeteries
Mildenhall High Town Council maintain three cemeteries
- The Old Cemetery - this is a closed cemetery and no further interments are permitted. The area is open to the public as a green space. Only the pathways are mown to encourage wildlife and wild flowers to thrive. If you take your dog, please keep him/ her on a lead and clean up afterwards. This is an amazing oasis of peace in a busy town, the gravestones are not in set in straight lines as is usual but placed facing in all directions.
- St Mary's Cemetery – this is also a closed cemetery with small areas side aside for wildlife and wild vegetation. The land is owned by the Church and maintained by Mildenhall High Town Council.
- Thetford Road Cemetery – this is the final resting place for many local people. A pleasant, tree-lined, tranquil place. The Cemetery has recently been extended to approximately double the size of the area, creating more burial/ resting places, separate access and a small car park.
